Getting Rid of Robot

Leilani made a robot a few weeks before Christmas - she was quite proud of her Robot! She played with him quite a bit - he danced and sang, went to bed and did funny things! She was told that after Christmas the Robot had to  go though! Leilani was a bit sad at first - but soon got over it! It's a shame we can't keep everything!

Long live Mr Robot - we hope you enjoy your days in the Recycling Bin!

Tinkering Angel

How cute is this little Angel!? She loves tinkering on the piano!

Swimming Lessons

We have been going to swimming lessons every Thursday afternoon for a whole year now (except school holidays!), and the kids really love it. Since Ange started working again I've been picking Jenna and Locke up from school and taking them to Swimming with us.  Although Jen doesn't swim anymore because she is too good for lessons so she just watches with me!!!!!

Anyway, Swimming lessons finished a week before school ended so the kids were really excited to just come home and play together on the Thursday instead of having to go to swimming lessons (even though they love it - it just felt nice not to have to bother with the whole getting there, getting back home - showering and bathing and getting dressed and all the effort that comes with that!)

I made some biscuits earlier in the day for them to decorate and they all loved it! Biscuit decorating is something all ages can enjoy! Jenna loved it, Locke loved it, Leilani loved it and Emily loved it! Pretty cool really - and so simple! We did quite a bit of biscuit decorating leading up to Christmas.

Em did a lot of this.......  (not many of her decorations really made it onto her biscuits - and she just loved licking the icing drips off her fingers!!!)

Kindy Completed!

Leilani's last day of kinder was very exciting! They all wore free dress and had a bit of a party after lunch. Her teacher gave her a special little present - which I thought  was so kind, and she came home with a big certificate saying "Congratulations on a Fabulous Year in Kindergarten!"
She absolutely loved kinder and her class and teacher. It was a great year!

I think Kindergarten is the best! It's such an exciting year and I think it's wonderful to see your child grow and change as they start participating in school activities and learning new things. I  think with kinder you get the best of both worlds - a couple of days at school and a couple of days at home with Mum! I love it!

I am Emily

I am Emily.

I like to ride my bike.

I like to run.

I love biscuits. They are my favourite snack.

I often talk to myself and I love to make people laugh.

Often people think that I am quiet - but I can talk all day.

I can dress myself, put my shoes on and I can even go to the toilet by myself.

I love to sing songs and play the piano and I like to dance.

I can 'read' books to myself, go down scary slides and even do myself up in the swings!

I love to give hugs and kisses and I love to tell my Mum & Dad that I love them.

I  try to be kind and I care about others and I love my big sister Leilani and I want to be just like her!

I am Emily!

Kinder Concert

Leilani's Kinder class put on a special little concert for their Mums and Dads on their second last day of school. It was so exciting - for us and for Leilani.

They sang us a few songs and talked about the things they had learnt in Kinder this year as well as the money they raised for the children in Africa by reading books. As a class they choose what to spend the money on and it was wonderful to hear them talk about helping others.  They all looked so cute and it was fun to see all the parents there so excited to see their grown up kinder kid!

At the end, Leilani got to take home her activity book and journal as well as a few other things they had made during the year that had not yet come home! We were also given her first school report - which was fun to read!

It was an eventful afternoon and we had fun going home and looking through her books and seeing how much she had improved since the beginning of the year!

Bonorong Wildlife Park

Leilani's last school excursion for the year was to the Bonorong Wildlife Park near Brighton. The whole class travelled on the bus and I'm told they had sooooo much fun! Emily and I met up with them there and joined the class on a guided tour! The kids loved it, they asked questions and took in turns of  patting the animals! Em loved being apart of it all and I think Lani enjoyed having us there.

Emily was very brave feeding the kangaroos and still talks about how funny it felt! Leilani tried but got to scared as soon as it would open its mouths and the feed would end up on the ground!!

On the way back to school they stopped at the Montrose Park for lunch and a play!

Em and I didn't get anything done that day but it was so nice to spend the day with Leilani and her Kinder Class! I'm so glad I get to do parent help and stuff like this, because these are the things you remember, it's also nice to be involved.

What do you wake up to?

You're never really too sure what you're going to wake up to in this house! On this particular morning it was Leilani dressing Emily up in her swim wear - floaties and all!!!!! These girls get up to some strange stuff at 7am in the morning!
