Our Holiday {Part three}

Our next day in Melbourne was spent in the shops and looking around Melbourne City. We headed out to Chadstone shopping centre in the afternoon and bumped into a few Woolley mammoths!

{From our Hotel}

On Wednesday 6th June we met up with some of the Woolleys and headed to the theatre to see Annie. It was great and we all really enjoyed it. Aunty Elle came over to babysit Chiara for us while we were in the theatre so that was great.

After the theatre we said goodbye to everyone and started on our driving adventure north. Our first stop was Shepparton. It was quite late by the time we left Melbourne (after getting dinner and stopping off at the shopping centre to return some boots that had lost a heel) and the traffic was really bad for the first hour, so it meant we arrived late into Shepparton.
The girls were all good in the car - having the car DVD players helped alot! Chiara lost it for the last half hour and was just over it all but she was pretty good for most of the trip so we were happy (and tired!)

We didn't sleep that well as the hotel was right on the main road so it was noisy and the air-con/heater was loud and really annoying! Bit of a crap hotel so we were glad that it was just an overnight stay!
In the morning we checked out all the coloured cows that Shepparton is famous for and took some photos - especially to show Grandad!

{The sun was really bright, so the photos are bad, but here we are with 'Strawberries & Cream Cow'}

{Scarecrow Cow}

{Rainbow Cow}

{Musical Cow}

{and Cow with a seat!}

We then drove from Shepparton to Canberra with a few stops along the way. Driving time was 5 1/2 hours (plus our stops ) so it was a long day. The kids all did well and didn't really complain much.

We stopped in Albury and found this fun swing which the girls still talk about - it went around!

We also stopped in to see the Dog on a Tucker Box at Gundagi. Mick is really good at making sure we see things like this - I often can't be bothered and suggest we just keep on going if it's not 'right on our path' but he will always make sure we find the little things along the way that the kids will later remember and appreciate - and I'm thankful that he takes the time to do it. The dog was a little smaller than we expected!

We arrived at Girish and Pranjali's house in Canberra at around 7pm and were so glad to finally get there. Leilani and Emily were heaps excited to see Priya again and to meet Soha - and have some little friends to play with for a few days. It's nice that they get excited about staying with friends.

Well it's nice to hear all about the holiday even if it was 1/2 a year ago. You need a few more weeks away from home to get up to date .
