Concert Time

It was fun to go and watch the girls perform in their end of year class concerts this year. Emily's concert was first and she was so excited about it. She practiced the songs at home for us a few times and even taught Leilani a few of them so we were looking forward to seeing her sing them on stage. She was most excited about her trip on the school bus to go and practice on the big stage the week before the event.

It was a really good concert, it was held at the Colligate Performing Arts Centre and only went for about 30 minutes. Emily did a great job and sang along to the songs as she was suppose to. She looked tired though (it started at 6.15pm) and when it finished she said she was very tired!!!

We were in a rush to get there on time and left without the camera but luckily Mum took a couple of shots with hers!

Leilani's concert was held about a week after Emily's and was for all prep through to grade 2 classes, so it was a bit different from Em's. It was held during school time and the GP hall was packed tight with kids and teachers as well as family and friends. I was lucky to get a seat up the front on the side so I had a good view, but it was so squishy I couldn't even save a seat for Mum and Elle who arrived not long after me! That sucked a bit, but Leilani saw them both there watching her so she was happy!

It was a lot different from Em's 'private school' concert which had raised seating, a proper stage, sound and lighting!!!! Quite interesting to compare them both! Leilani's class did a bit of a pirate play which I thought was actually really good! Leilani got to stand in the front row - along with her other 'short' friends (there has to be some benefit of being short!) so we got a good look at her!

It was fun during the week catching her singing and doing the actions at home in front of the mirror!! (Of course she would stop if she was ever caught!!!)

By the time she gets to high school she won't want to stand in the front row! haha I hated it - being the short one.. but yes good for you at the moment so you can get a good look at her :) Love the family photos. Your girls are just soooo cute!!
